Okay, so I picked up this bird really just to have the complete first wave of Gemini
Aces -- I'm not a huge fan of 109s, per se. However, it's a great model. The
white/green camo scheme replicates a field-modification scheme the Luftwaffe
applied with the onset of the Russian winter, and it's a very unique-looking
scheme. I've not seen anything quite like it from anyone else...yet.
The model is very well put together. The fit/finish is excellent -- all the small parts
fit perfectly, and the rudder and flaps don't droop (or fall off, like Dragon's are
prone to do). Oh, and it's pretty much entirely metal, too -- even the prop and
moveable control surfaces!
 Like the
P-51B, the subtle details in the mold are washed out a bit in spots, and
the underside of the model looks a bit sparsely detailed. Like the
JJ Spit, the
antenna is much too pointed, and the pilot's had too many donuts. (However, the
pilot doesn't look as out of scale as with the 51b and Spit.)
Still, these truly are minor issues. If you are at all a fan of 109s, and the Russian
front, this model is easy to give a big thumb's up!
             Highly Recommended!
