All Cyberhobby models are limited.
However, CH doesn't tell you how
many it makes. Initial models were
released in runs of 500. I suspect it's
more like 1,000 now.
This 109E-1 from Dragon's Cyberhobby division has been a long time coming, but it's been
worth the wait. It's a great looking model, and other than some fiddly gear (what else is new)
I have no complaints. This bird is actually what Fritz Losigkeit flew before Corgi's 190, which
makes a nice companion piece. I've heard Dragon is also doing the same 190, though no
word on when we'll see it.
I particularly like Dragon's attention to the small details on this model, such as the
prop/spinner, nose machine-gun recesses, and the wing-mounted 20mm cannon, which you
have to attach yourself, unfortunately (very easy to lose, glue's a good idea).
Recommended.
There's a visible vertical notch in front
of the left stabilizer where it joins the
fuselage. Not sure what that's about.
She definitely cuts a fine profile, don't you think -- the art under the cockpit is superbly done,
though I can not say how accurate or inaccurate it might be.
The gear was difficult to set up. As
with many Dragon models the pegs
on the gear does not fit securely in
the notches in the gear wells. Glue is
recommended.
Unlike most Dragon 109s the antenna is
very easy to attach without glue--though I'd
still recommend using it so that you don't
lose the part. And also so that it has the
proper orientation, and doesn't list forward
as it does in these shots (oops!).
