This could happen to you if you don't
use a spot of white glue to keep the
gear steady.
I love the fact that HM came out with this Anniversary D-Day scheme for the A-10, as it has allowed me to get rid of my FM version which was taking
up way too much space -- though I did really like the model. I don't miss it that much because this is a very nice effort from HM, overall.
As with all of its models, HM applies a black wash that highlights the panel lines. I think the effect is overdone, but I do like the overall "used"
effect it gives the model. They could be worse (IXO and FOV, anyone?).
Assembly was a real breeze. Everything fit where it was supposed to nice and easy. The only problem was getting the closed nose gear door out,
as it fits pretty tightly and there's no tab like on Corgi models to help you (this might be a good idea HM). A frightful array of ordnance of all shapes
and sizes is included, giving the model a truly deadly look. To display it in flight, the two racks of center-mounted bombs need to be removed,
however. (Note: the weapons and pylons/racks are provided as single pieces that attach to slots in the wings.)
The landing gear is a bit unstable, but probably only a problem if you move or handle your models a lot. (This can easily be fixed with a bit of
heat and gentile bending.) And the stabs cant outward a bit, which is a function, no doubt, of HM fixing the
elevator issue that plagued the first A-10
releases.  A spot of Elmers glue will fix it right up! No pilot figure is included, which is a bit of a drag -- especially if you like to display your models "in
flight". Outside of these niggles I have no complaints.
Recommended.

Minuses
Nice paint scheme, and very good
overall fit/finish!
Stabs cant downwards -- should be
verticle.
Lots of display options! The ordnance is
impressive!
No pilot figure, or moving parts other
than the opening canopy.
Display stand is a bit flimsy, but it does
the job
