If you like P-38s you simply must have this one in your collection somewhere, anywhere, in any scale. Why? It's the mount of the highest-scoring
U.S. ace in history--nuff said!
I like 1:48 with this airframe because it sets off the size of this fighter better than 1:72 when you display it with other models -- at least I think
so! I managed to score this one for under $40 shipped, which is a very fair price. It's very well made with no obvious QA flaws with the fit and finish.
And all the markings, with the exception of the insignia on the tail booms, are pad-printed. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves now!

Pluses
Minuses
Excellent "heft" factor
No moving parts, display stand, or retractable gear. No pilot figures.
Paint is very well-applied, very few "sticker" decals
Some rough parts/paint edges if you look closely enough
| |
Small decals are pad printed but are not as crisp as they could be -- very hard to read
