This model looks really sharp in prewar colors! (I've also posted the Coral Sea SBD.) The paint scheme is nicely done and the model has a slightly
grimy look that makes it look more realistic. I am a bit confused by the cockpit options: a solid one piece canopy and a tri-piece canopy are
included. This is to display it open, but what confused me was that the pilot's canopy fits in the middle, too, and does not slide over anything... I
take it the rear portion of the canopy was jettisoned if the guns had to used?? Looking into this... but if anyone knows the secret give me a shout
please. (Would have been cool to be able to swing out the rear gun in the "open canopy" mode... but you can't have everything. There is a gun
inside the fuselage, but its barrel is clipped.)
