Eagles International debuted its first model, a P-
51B, in 2005, which was followed up by...
several more P-51Bs. Hey, who can blame them:
It takes several different liveries in a single mold
to make the model profitable. And, while it's a P-
51 at least it's a B model, which no one else is
offering in any other scale. (Gemini will
reportedly be filling the void in 1:72 in 2007, late
2006 perhaps.)
Eagles' models are 1:48, and in terms of detail
they kick the stuffing out of anything else in the
scale that I've seen so far, most notably Franklin
Mint. The detail comes at a price though, as
these birds will run you anywhere from $70 to
$100. However, they do have a very high metal
content, and the two I have are simply gorgeous.
  Here's the features you get:
  •        Optional pilot
  •        Two position landing gear
  •        Display stand
  •        Optional 75 and 110-gal drop tanks
  •        Pad-printed decals
  •        Optional open/closed canopy

A series of Texans is due next from Eagles this
fall, which will hopefully be followed by a P-47
razorback and a FW-190.
And, the company has recently announced
that it will make custom models, too (custom
paints of existing molds)--though pricing has
not been disclosed.
This is definitely a company to watch.
